Weaponry & Armoury - Wearable Arts

This wearable arts outfit, made for the weaponry and armoury category, marked one of my earliest design projects. I undertook this venture during my time in intermediate school for our 2014 extravaganza, in a new category that had been created. The catalyst for this endeavour was the simultaneous release of The Hobbit trilogy, which ignited my creative spark and acted as an influence on my design.

For this project, I sourced all materials from a recycling tip shop called Crew, primarily repurposing items like blinds, colanders, and odds and ends. The cape's creation involved painstaking wirework to fashion chainmail, despite some discomfort. To adhere to safety regulations and for display purposes, I crafted the sword from plywood, painting it silver and adding charcoal shading to create depth. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I couldn't fully exceccute my vision for the sword's handle.
